But this is really really nice and creamy and the power of fejoa does not overpower.  It’s got good “balance”. :)

It’s simple to make and just like the flashy gourmet stuff you buy for over $10 a tub.

The recipe is easy and is done in two parts over two days.

Day 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 and half cups fejoa pulp
  • 1 cup sugar

Soak 1 and half cups of fejoa pulp with 1 cup of sugar overnight in the fridge.

Day 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 egg whites – beaten until stiff
  • 300 ml bottle of cream – whip it
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 beaten egg yolks
  1. fold all the ingredients together, with the fejoa mix, into a freezer proof container
  2. beat again when half frozen

It’s good, so so good…

What more can I say about true love? I’m thankful to finally know true love! The fact it was right there all along is very random, but I guess all good things take time.

I’m thankful that I have someone who knows me, thinks about meme, respects me, is kind to me, says nice things to me, is thoughtful, considerate, sweet and protective. Who laughs at my dad’s jokes and makes plenty of his own, and for some reason finds me funny most of the time. Who makes me feel safe and loves me as much as I love him. I’ll never take any of it for granted.

What have I learnt? Two things:

  1. I’m not actually nerdy at all really, slightly geeky but not nerdy
  2. I’m really used to Twitter and not used to writing long blog posts anymore – not unless I’m politically ranting or talking about games

Where do you see technology advancing in the next 20 years – and where will you fit in?

Where will it go?  SKYNET!  No, maybe not that far.  I’m in government, so it’s probably not going to go anywhere.  I’d be hoping for a future where people are more connected, knowledge is shared more freely, everything is more accessible, and people can prosper and be happy – technology just enabling where it needs to.

I’m not sure where I’ll fit in.  Hopefully it’ll have something to do with making sure people needs and business needs are what drives the development, not just technology for the hell of it.  So bring on the standards, quality and user focus. :)

I’m tired, so that’s all I’m going to say.  I’ve enjoyed the #30DaysOfGeek challenge!

Next up: #30DaysOfMusic ^_^ But maybe I won’t be doing it on Tumblr.  Although I do have my own Tumblr blog and one dedicated to old games.

What would I have done differently?  I’m not on my fecken deathbed, so I have no clue what I would have done differently.

I think any changes would be career related.  Here are a few ideas:

  1. Not studied IT, actually done something bankable like nursing, medicine, builder etc.  A trade!
  2. Not wasted time learning programming, and stuck with project management plus analysis and design
  3. Become a project manager or stayed as a Business Analyst and not moved from technical into management

I think number 3 is probably the most important one.

Firstly, let’s clarify that software includes games and commercial software.

I think both are good. Why would we want everything to be free? How would the economy work? We will have all our coders on welfare working on open source code! If you have a great product and you invest in it then why the hell shouldn’t you benefit from it?

Commercially it makes sense. You’ll find that most organisations need to have companies to hold accountable for support and problems with software.

Open source would work if there was someone supporting them too I guess.

Either way. We need to have competition and we need companies making money and paying tax. So both aregood and both are necessary.
