A good long talk on random stuff

So… what’s with this server eh? Going all wonky n stuff. GAY. I emailed and txt my cousin, but heard nothing. I’ll see him at Nana’s on Christmas though.

Let’s see what random things I’ve been up to. First, on Sunday I was eating strawberries and there was one as big as my hand :o I should have done a better comparison, but I got hungry! ^_^ Tis not a very good photo o_O

Then what happened? Well, Charlotte drew a “nake”, and a “nake” goes ssssssssss apparently. Unsure how she knows what a snake is. And also what a scorpion is! ;)

My garden got nailed by the hot weather, and I had to have the sprinkler on most of the weekend. Which was okay, cos Charlotte and I sat under it ;)

Oh, and Dave made Charlotte a mini version of one of my handbags

Look at that, she’s totally not a baby anymore. She’s a real little girl. Ohhh my lil baby all grown up! Someone give me more babies!

Oh Christmas tree…

Compared to trees that I saw when I was in the UK, our tree is pretty lame. Yes, it’s not a real one, because real pine trees in NZ look like… sticks with random branches. Our little tiny fake one looks better than any pine tree I’ve ever seen. We don’t have Fir trees, or whatever you foreigners use ;) I don’t like the way my floor gets covered in pine needles too, and needlessly cutting down some innocent baby tree just to have it die in my yard, then having to pay $30 to dump it at the rubbish tip. It doesn’t seem the logical or sustainable thing to do. But I hope one day I can have a really bushy real tree that looks awesome, they need to genetically modify them so they make good Christmas trees. I saw a cool fake black one o_O

Anyway, take a look at our fake tree. The photo doesn’t really do it justice. I’m going to film it at night with the pretty lights flashing and going all colours. I also took the photo before I found a box with tinsel in it ;) So it is a bit bare. We’ve had this tree for about… 10 years o_O So it’s kind of old and worn out. But it’s a good tree, it fits nicely on the table in the corner and we only have a few decorations, all the ones we made as kids are all thrown out long ago. Plus, our cat likes to pull it over so it pays not to have a big tree. Charlotte already nearly pulled the tree over twice. Gotta keep an eye on these kids o_O

Charlotte made her first decoration at this Christmas party she went to, it’s a toilet roll converted into a Santa. He’s sitting up there next to the Angel. Santa is all coloured in with colourful felt pens (which might I add do NOT wash out of her best t-shirt very well). He has a hat with cotton wool on it. He’s very cool looking. She’s not completely sure who Father Christmas/Santa is. I tried to explain it, but all she does is point at say “tee” which is tree in her language.

Our tree looks very nice in person. :p I’m pleased with it. I decorated it ALL on my own. I even themed it so it’s only gold and red. One day I’m going to have a massive tree, and I’ll decorate it only in silver and bloo. Until then, I’m very happy with this one. I’ll post a video of it tonight.

And it already has about 6 presents under it ;) ooooo…..

P.S. stop laughing at my tree, or Santa won’t come to your house!

A stinking hot weekend!

Oh what a weekend. I can’t say that I did a lot, I totally didn’t. Well, I went to a BBQ at the police station. That was awesome. I took a shitload of photos. Charlotte had lots of fun with the kids and was pleased to see Kirsty again. And for once I wasn’t behind the camera, because there are photos of me!

Hmmm, I need to start captioning the photos. And how come nobody comments ;) You can comment on my photos!

Yesterday was great, I just made this bed on my lawn and lay in the sun. I think my legs are feeling a bit itchy, so I got some sun. It was so nice to be in the sun and just.. hot. HOT. Today is supposed to be the hottest so far this year, 21 degree high. But for some reason it’s all overcast and windy and it started raining on the way to work. Go figure *rolls eyes*

Also spend some time looking for more bands. My last.fm page is great because it doesn’t just show what I listen to ;) but makes some AWESOME recommendations for bands I’d like. And I’ve found some awesome ones. Strange enough, it picked up Starfighter, which is a rare one I own on CD. And a few others, remind me to rip my CD’s into mp3. So I did a fair bit of that while sitting in the sun too. Which explains why my battery ran out so fast. Also, a bit of EE3 ;) OOSH.

Here’s a photo I took when mountain biking up in Upper Hutt. So I did get off my arse:

I also spent time with some awesome people on IRC. You know who you are. And thanks :) I’m uhh, well, yeah. And yes, I woke up this morning like this –> O_O

So, I noticed we’re into December. Where did this year go? It seems to have flown past me. Hard to believe I have been at MED for over a year now. And so much has changed since I started here. I can’t say that I miss the Ministry of Education :p

Also at home, things have been interesting this year. Very interesting. I wonder WTF I’m doing there too. Random.

So we’ll wait out December, and wait for the new year. Which will bring a change I hope. Bring on 08, every day which passes takes me closer to something else. I just hope that something else is awesomer than this.

Oh, I forgot my medication today. Bugger. And I have a two hour meeting this morning. This is gonna be interesting… >_< I wish I didn’t live on the other side of the harbour. So ignore me if I’m acting like a dick.

A bit of everything

I haven’t done in any food shopping in a few weeks. Well, the odd trip to the dairy for bread and milk. And it’s because we have so much food in our pantry. About 60 or so cans in there, easily… I have my fridge, stashes of bottles of coke in the linen cupboard and also the freezer in the kitchen plus the big freezer in the garage. And then I show Oyn my pantry and he says it isn’t much o_O I wanna see in Oyn’s pantry! I think they have tons of food if they have more than we do. That’s amazing!

Last night I went mountain biking again. It was awesomeness. I felt the burn, FEEL THE BURN! Yes, feeling the burn. I was a little bit wobbly, and a whole lot dirty and sweaty when I came home. I figured that I’m dropping kg’s with my different eating, and I really need to do more exercise. Plus, its mega fun to go for runs walks and bike rides. And BMX and motocross and all those other funky things I love to do. I’m never going to take up frootbooting though :p

I’m a little bit tired though -_- I think I need some sleepies. I got eight hours last night, but it wasn’t enough…

/me hides in Hexie’s bed under the blankets and goes to sleep…

Girls and cars?

Y’know, I have always been a car enthusiast as long as I can remember.

Here I am at approximately 1-1.5 years old trying to steal a mini, followed by me admiring this lovely red Porsche when I was 9 years old. I was probably drafting up a plan to steal it on that pad of paper there.

Don’t even get started on the red socks, or why I had them pulled up like that. I had absolutely NO sense of style when I was a child. Unlike kids nowadays who panic if they don’t get to wear what they want.

That mini was my mums. We were so dang funky. It made me draft up a list of cars that I have owned.

In 1997 I had to buy my mums Toyota Corolla off her because I wrote it off. It cost me NZ$3500. I got to sit next to it for one day as my car, but it sat on the car trailer the whole day, then went to the rubbish tip. It was a cool DX as well, mid 80s, in mint condition.

Same year 1997: bought my first Mini. It was just the round nose model. Was metallic blue, only went for about 2 months then died. I held onto it anyway, put it in the garage.

1997: I got my Nissan Sunny 1986 model. WOW. Gunmetal grey ;) This car then got tuned at a performance car shop and went FAST. I owned that car until 2000.

1998: I bought a new Mini, it was a Mini Clubman. I kept both minis. The Mini Clubman went awesomely, and had widened rims and little fat tyres on it, this was grey.

1999: I got another round nose Mini, this was red. And another one which was yellow. I then took the lid off my blue one and turned it into a convertible, and then took it up the top of Norrie Grove and rammed it into a bank after doing some drifties. About a week later I got a Ford Escort from a mate for $50 and it had no petrol cap, so I drove it up to Tip Road and did some drag racing, and wrote it off, so I left it up there.

2000: I got rid of the red Mini. And got rid of my Mini Clubman. Kept the yellow one. Bought a green Holden, and painted it metallic purple. It had an OOSH engine, went like snot. It was an oldschool Holden Commodore, the classic mid 80s style. I painted it up, then trashed it for a few weeks. It didn’t last. Thank God the entire time I had my Nissan Sunny as my reliable and road legal car ;) Ditched the Holden.

2000: bought a new Nissan Sunny as the body on my one was no longer WOF-able. Got a new Nissan Sunny for $200 which didn’t go, swapped my engine into it and huzzah, another year bought. At the end of 2000 it was getting kinda tired. Sold the Minis that was left.

So mid-2001: sold the Nissan, well, for free. Gave the Nissan to this hooker friend of mine and bought my Mazda Familia 1993 Interplay model. This was a great little car, went like snot – and my first nearly-brand-new car. It was only imported about 2 months before I bought it!

2005: 2 gear boxes and engines later I sold the Mazda Familia, and purchased my Subaru Impreza. Yay, Impreza ftw.

You can see the car I love most. The classic Minis are just PHAT! I really wouldn’t mind getting another one.

I wanna go to the Big Day Out :(

Hayden and his ticket:

I’m so jealous -_-

There have been some great announcements on the Big Day Out website.

We’re supposed to be going together, but I haven’t got my ticket yet! And I don’t know if I can afford to, because I’m saving up to go and annoy Hexie for one month. But I’m thinking that I am going to go to the Big Day Out anyway, because Rage Against the Machine are playing, and when will you ever get a chance to see them again? They aren’t even together anymore! (I don’t know how that makes any logical sense).

The arse thing is also finding somewhere to stay. If you plan to go up you’re supposed to have booked your accommodation about 4 months ago, they go really quickly. And it’s arse to find your way around Auckland! Parking etc. What a shit hole of a city.

The good news? They are going to host a rock concert called Rock2Wgtn at our stadium next Easter weekend. TWO DAYS LONG! And Kiss are one of the headline acts. And more announcements are to come. YAY. Finally the stadium levy on my property rates are going to pay off. Yeah right – I pay a few hundred a year for a stadium I have been to once – and I had to pay $40 just to see a lousy game of provincial rugby (and we didn’t even win). Eww.

I was made for loooving you baby…

Gardening and creepy-crawlies ftw!

So yesterday was totally action packed huh? After biking I came home and talked to my lovely for a bit. Then I went to the mall for afternoon tea and to buy some socks. Then I came home and went and did my gardens. If you’ve seen photos of my kitchen you’ll see that the bay window is shielded from the neighbours by a huge jasmine vine on the fence. My neighbours decided to paint their side of the fence and when they did that they managed to disconnect the fecking trellis from the fence and my vine fell over! o_O #$*(&^! So I went out and decided that I didn’t need the vine where the window wasn’t so I got in there and I cut the fucking thing to bits. And I was totally terrified -_- I bet some big spiders live in that thing, it’s been there forever. Anyway, there was only about 1.5m between the house and the fence, so I had to get right in there and I ripped it off the fence, ripped the trellis down and had to cut it all up and drag it around and stomp it into the wheelie bin. Then go back and reattach the trellis and vine that should be there.

Y’know, I didn’t get inside until about 3 hours later, didn’t feel like 3 hours? And I haven’t even started on my lavender garden or anything else o_O Next weekend is going to be so busy again!

The good news? There were no spiders that I saw. The awesome news? I found this mega cool weta :D

He’s a nice big one too! He went up the wall to the eave (I think it’s the eave? Did I spell that right?) And I had to grab a stick and poke him back down. He wasn’t happy… He got all angsty and started hissing. But I prodded him a few times and he fell down, and I dug around in the garden but I couldn’t find him. Thank God eh? Mum would have had a fit. I think they’re kinda cute. He would have been a healthy 10cm long, not including his feelers and back legs n stuff.

I’m scratched to fuckery, but I had a damn good time!
