What more can I say about true love? I’m thankful to finally know true love! The fact it was right there all along is very random, but I guess all good things take time.

I’m thankful that I have someone who knows me, thinks about meme, respects me, is kind to me, says nice things to me, is thoughtful, considerate, sweet and protective. Who laughs at my dad’s jokes and makes plenty of his own, and for some reason finds me funny most of the time. Who makes me feel safe and loves me as much as I love him. I’ll never take any of it for granted.

Oh, you reckon eh?

This recipe below is from some friends in Canada. It got added to the family cookbook when they came to visit in the early 2000s.

Best pancake/hotcake recipe ever

3 cups of flour
1 tsp salt
6 tbsp sugar (you can use splenda or sucryl)
2 eggs
6 tbsp (90 grams) melted butter
1 tsp vanilla essence
6 tsp baking powder
3 cups of milk

Heat up your frying pan because this won’t take long…

Mix the first 6 ingredients together with the milk on high until smooth. Add more milk or water if the mix is too thick or you want to stretch it further.

Add the baking powder to the mixture and give it a very quick mix on high.

Use a soup ladel to put the mix into the pan as it measures out just the right amount for a hotcake (and doesn’t make as much mess).

Flip when they start to bubble and you will end up with a nice golden hotcake. If you’re doing it right you might end up with a very, very thin crust… yum.

This mix will make enough for 4 people. I usually make a double mix when I cook them for Christmas morning, and we usually have 6-8 people with hotcakes left over.

Great served with fruit and cream or maple syrup, bacon and bananas… mmm… fry the bananas a bit

I think I’m going to die having never been married. I’m reaching level 30 this year. I will be able to wear tougher armor, carry a bigger sword and edge a little bit closer to my death.

On a side note, I’m also kinda relieved I don’t have to go through the motions. I’m disappointed and happy with where I’m at. Dating at 30? Not married at 30? A mother at 30?

Who the fuck wants to get invovled with someone with a kid? ugh. That’s a terrible though, but haunting me in the back of my head like a nagging marge simpson. go figure.

Sweet Valley High – the 30s years?

Back when some of us were of the age to be spending all our time thinking seriously about whether we should be getting behind Coke or Pepsi, and which member of Duran Duran was the dreamiest, our bookshelves wore the kicky pastel and citrus hues of Sweet Valley.

I haven’t been this excited in ages -_- I still have a whole lot of the Sweet Valley Twins and Sweet Valley High books at home. I think I even have some Sweet Valley Kids books o_O Or whatever it was when they were super-young.

Ahhh Elizabeth and Jessica, what are you up to now?…

Sugar Free Please – APPLE STRUDEL.

I get a lot of recipes from this site, having to eat sugar-free ‘n all. I made some apple strudel tonight and served with vanilla ice cream. It’s shame I couldn’t put sultana’s in it, but it was nice.

I also made some more bacon and egg pie for dave to take to lunch for the next week, plus also some pikelets for Charlotte to take for morning tea.

So it was a nice evening of cooking, and not even 8pm and I’m already sitting down to do some blogging

The bride (Amanda) arrived at about 5:20pm. Fashionably late! She looked totally stunning. She also arrived in this HUUUUGE limo. It was so big that after the ceremony they had to come and find who owned some cars to get them moved because the limo got stuck. Then it couldnt get out past the carpark, so they had to remove some plants from the gardens to let the limo out down the bottom. Honestly, it was a fucking huge limo.

Charlotte was very well behaved during the ceremony. She stood up with Nadia (the bridesmaid who was her chaperone) and was nice and quiet. Then she discovered the hedge behind her and played with that for a while. Then found a big leaf and ran off with it. It was just beautiful. Amanda looked lovely, and her and Kieran looked happy.

After the ceremony we sat in the gardens and had drinks and nibbles, then moved inside for the reception dinner, followed by dancing. It was awesome. It was nice to have all my family in one place at one time. We totally pwnd Amanda’s family in terms of attendance. There was many more of us Taylors and Davies.

It was a great evening and night. What a success. The weather was really clear and calm, and everyone was in such a good mood. I can only hope that one day if I get married it’ll be half as awesome as this. The speech Kieran gave about him and Amanda and how much he loves her, he was in tears, it was just really touching. And everyone was just so happy and proud for them.

Let’s see what random things I’ve been up to. First, on Sunday I was eating strawberries and there was one as big as my hand I should have done a better comparison, but I got hungry! ^_^ Tis not a very good photo o_O

Then what happened? Well, Charlotte drew a “nake”, and a “nake” goes ssssssssss apparently. Unsure how she knows what a snake is. And also what a scorpion is!

My garden got nailed by the hot weather, and I had to have the sprinkler on most of the weekend. Which was okay, cos Charlotte and I sat under it

Oh, and Dave made Charlotte a mini version of one of my handbags

Look at that, she’s totally not a baby anymore. She’s a real little girl. Ohhh my lil baby all grown up! Someone give me more babies!

I just realised I only have less than 1cm left of my lipstick, and its gonna run out and I’m gonna be sad. It’s the bestest lipstick ever. All shiny and glossy with sparkles, and just perfectly suited. Not too bright, not too dull, perfect.

Ohhh damn me for loving a lipstick not available in NZ anymore!
