Awards for me?! WOAH :D

So tonight is the govt3 awards ceremony. We have been nominated :D We being the fab four who worked on the communications for the MED govt3 stuff. In case someone should come across this I’ll say that it is the entire Ministry, but it was so hard to get people onside that meh :p~

So the ceremony is tonight, I’m wearing my dress. I get to hang with the big-wigs and the Prime Minister is going to be there, so yay.

I was really chuffed when I came into work this morning (after getting out of my wet clothes) because I had an envelope on my chair that had an award especially for me in it -_- I won the MED Communications Team Chocolate Fish Award – In recognition of outstanding web services provided on communications projects, and for working in with our team without resort to violence or voodoo dolls. I’m so touched! And I got a chocolate fish. I guess I’m appreciated, I certainly feel loved right now.

So while I had to wade across a knee-deep puddle just to get to work, I also have had a really, really good morning.

And I just wanna say that I love Hexie, and he showed me how I can have apostrophes and speech marks! Push the space key afterwards! YAY! You are my hero! <3

Disturbed are so not disturbing…

So, I have to add another album to my top 10, but I’m not sure which one to remove. Disturbed – Ten Thousand Fists is just an amazing album. What a piece of art -_-

I was thinking I would remove Evanescence, but that album is very special to me, so maybe Tool (eek, how could I??)

Claire Voyant is another band I have been listening to a lot. From California I think. Some sort of gothic/rock/unknown genre. They seem to mix it up so much you can’t pinpoint them to any specific genre. Very clever ;) It also makes for music that never gets stale. So beautiful (big thanks to Oyn). Their self titled album is really good, but I like the Love is Blind album better. Gorgeous music.

It’s beautiful and sunny here in Wellington today, which makes a HUGE difference. Yesterday was gale force winds and flash flooding. o_O Severe weather warnings and the rest. Now it’s sunny. Generally when the weather mixes up like this you end up with a huge earthquake. We can only hope – how exciting would that be? :D It’s been ages since I felt a decent earthquake!

Back to work …. ¬_¬

Dutch what?!

Another restless night, I’m so tired. Monday night was awful; I went to sleep around 12:00am and woke up at 2:30am-ish. Then I just couldn’t get back to sleep and ended up laying there just with my mind going mental. I had the most bizarre dream… I ended up snoozing for about 20 minutes at 5:30am, which is a pain in the arse as I get up 6:00am and I could have had more sleep if I had more time to get into the zone!

I guess forgetting your last.fm password doesn’t pay off. I had to sign up again so I could share my music with a friend of mine who says it’s “l33t”. o_O But I’m there as bunnybunnz if you’re ever interested in finding out how LOW my compatibility with Hexie is. I think Hexie has some most excellent music, so just how reliable is this comparison eh?

So tired… -_-

Today had a really random start to the day at work. And I mean really random. I know that my password is up to number 14 (yeah, I have an imagination and increase it by 1 every month). But my password would not work this morning, and I ended up locking myself out of my system. So I had to call the helpdesk and they reset my password. And then it turns out I was getting it right, but my keyboard was in Dutch keyboard layout so the keys were different. Now that is really, really strange because I have never put my keyboard in Dutch format. Why would I do that? My computer was also two hours behind everyone yesterday when daylight savings came into effect… I think it has a mind of its own. But Dutch? Do you think it’s a sign?!

I’m going to try and nap for a bit now. I will hope that nobody notices. I don’t expect anyone else to come in until later. The benefits of working so early are you can nap before anyone gets to work.
